Homepage | Measuring and analysis of metabolomics In contrast to transcriptomics, in metabolomics every molecule you are studying has different chemical properties. For this reason not one platform can be used to analyze the complete metabolome. Therefore, several different techniques are used to analyze metabolite levels. In this session the different techniques are described (Metabolomics and Separation Techniques). After the initial measurement the peaks should be quantified (relative of absolute levels) and identified (although this is not always possible). Several different methods are described to come to the final data (Methods of identification, Data extraction, Data formats and alignment tools). To understand the role of a certain metabolite in the cell you can consult different databases (Metabolite databases).
