How should you take samples and store them?

Metabolism is very rapid, therefore changes in metabolite levels can occur during sampling. For this reason sampling should be done fast and metabolism should be stopped as fast as possible (quenching). Moreover, some metabolite easily degrate even at -20 degrees, therefore storage of metabolite samples is a important issue.
