Life-stage Nutrition The relationship between nutrition, genotype and phenotype caries with life-stage; the pregnant mother, the child and the adult, both young and old, all have different responses to nutrients and dietary needs, which are further complicated by nutrient-gene interactions. NuGO seeks to integrate understanding of these mechanisms, develop our predictive abilities and construct models that can be used to determine how nutrition affects our health and well-being preconception to old-age. Concurrent to this, NuGO will provide a strong training environment for scientists and clinicians in order to improve nutritional advice specifically, but also the information available to European consumers for making dietary choices.
