Overview of session

Interpretation of detected changes in circulating metabolome in the context of organismal physiology is a great challenge due to many spatial and dynamic factors affecting the metabolite levels. I will describe our work aiming to address these challenges, including how gut microbiota modulates serum metabolome, localization and distribution of metabolites and lipids in different lipoproteins, and liver metabolic fluxes as determined by comprehensive metabolomics analysis of human hepatic vain and artery in an hepativ venous characterization experiment.
